INDEMNUS began business operations on April 1, 2003. Davis Insurance Agency, Inc. of Des Moines, Iowa had operated for many years as a highly departmentalized insurance agency specializing in many types of insurance products. Since the workflows and processes were so different between the two departments it seemed only natural to split the personal lines and commercial divisions of Davis Insurance into two separate entities.
After several years in the insurance industry, the two Davis brothers, Chad and Ryan purchased their interests in Davis Insurance and INDEMNUS was born. The INDEMNUS model was designed around people’s busy lives. We listened to our clients and realized that what they really wanted was an easy, efficient way to compare rates and to buy quality insurance products from stable, reputable insurance companies. They wanted a simple way to service their policies and they wanted their policies reviewed on a regular and frequent basis. The motivation for INDEMNUS was to do things different than most independent insurance agencies and clearly different than our direct marketing counterparts. We took the book, learned from it, and then we threw it out the window.
